Nickelodeons Animal Story is closing.

The animated series, which has been on the air since 2002, is officially winding down after a long run.

In a statement, the network said, “Nickelodeons Animals Story is ending.

We are thrilled to be able to announce the end of Nickelodeonts Animal Story.”

Nickelodeonalis currently on hiatus for a season of animated specials.

The show was the most-watched network original program in 2017, drawing 2.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen data.

The closure of the show was announced Wednesday morning on the Nickelodeonic Instagram account.

“I want to thank everyone who has watched our show,” said Nickelodeonian executive producer/creator Nick Cuthbert.

“We will be forever grateful for all the hard work and friendship from our fans and all of the wonderful employees.

The show has touched people and entertained audiences for decades, and I am so proud to have been a part of it.”

The network said it was announcing the show’s closure on the show page and through the official Nickelodeonial Facebook page, as well as the Nickelodex.

The series will remain on air for three weeks after the network’s decision to discontinue it.

Cuthbert also announced that the series will not be returning for a sixth season.
